“Weight loss surgery is the easy way out,” said no bariatric patient ever. Weight loss surgery requirements are numerous and can be a long, tedious process to complete. However, we must address all of our physical and mental issues before surgery. We need to learn how to treat these issues to ensure great success after surgery. While the process is not easy, it is so worth it. Weight loss surgery requirements include numerous consults, tests and doctor appointments. It takes commitment and sacrifice to make it through this life-changing process.

Not the Easy Way Out
A lot of people may think that weight loss surgery is the easy way out. After all, you are surgically changing your digestive system so that it is nearly impossible to overeat. If you consume fewer calories than you are burning, you are going to lose weight. For me, I thought weight loss surgery was the easy way out for years. I thought bariatric patients were too lazy to watch their calories and exercise more. Little did I know, those were just some common bariatric myths.
